“But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
--Jeremiah 31:33
The SPARK is glowing again as we engage in another year of Sunday School. We will continue the ELCA’S Book of Faith Initiative and open the Bible together to learn the story of God’s amazing love for us. This year we will learn more about God’s people and the covenants that God made with them and us.
Thanks for attending Recharge Rally Day on Sunday, January 8. Twelve families joined us to make a pile of quilt patches for our LWR quilters, 15 AIDS / Hospice Kits, and 15 Midwife Kits for Lutheran World Relief. Many welcome cards were made to give to newly baptized babies and children as well.
We finished our unit on The Prodigal Son, where the story was studied through mission, games and drama centers. The fourth and fifth grade students presented a melodrama about the story on January 29.
Our next unit, “Love Is…”, a study of I Corinthians 13, will begin on February 5. We will explore the Bible text through these centers:
Art Center: We will make photo frames and clay pots.
Games Center: We will play games including musical chairs/ puzzles, charades, relays, concentration, and motion activities.
Cooking Center: We will make a snack mix reminding us of the things that love is, we will make cookies to give as gifts of love.
The next family Sunday School will be a Lenten Workshop on February 26!
Thank you to our Sunday School Teachers Lisa Anderson, Chris Bode, Lisa Borchert, Tami Ernster, Emily Ernster, Gretchen Kueter, Deron Muehring, Tony Quinn, Else Schardt, Kim Wagner, Nathaniel Wagner, Stephanie Wieland, Dan Wild, and Emily Wild.
