WORSHIP
Brian Burns
Music Director
As I mentioned in my previous column, a new year usually brings about a spirit of change. With that in mind, I am saddened to announce the departure of Jack Luke and Peg Cornils Luke from our music staff. In their short time with us, they have made numerous significant contributions to our worship life, and I thank them for employing their talents in service to our congregation and wish them all the best as they continue performing and teaching in our area. For the foreseeable future, I will be adding the duties of Jack and Peg’s position to my workload.
In other news, our choirs have started rehearsing and singing/playing again, and worship is much enhance by their presence. Several members of the congregation have had kind comments regarding the skill and devotion of our singers and bell ringers; please know that I forward all compliments to the choirs and that they greatly appreciate the congregation’s support and encouragement!
Special congratulations to Bill Rowley, co-leader (with his wife Cindy) of the Living Faith ensemble. Bill’s band at Dubuque Senior High School was one of very few from across the state to be chosen to perform at the Iowa State Bandmaster’s Association’s conference this year. We already knew we were blessed to have the Rowleys here at Holy Trinity, but it’s nice to see Bill’s hard work and dedication to his students recognized by the leading band organization in Iowa! Please join me in congratulating Bill when you see him!
