Sunday School News
“O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds.”
The SPARK will continue as we begin another year of Sunday School this fall. We will once again use SPARK Sunday School curriculum and open the Bible together to learn the story of God’s amazing love for us.
Family Sunday School—Stewardship
During Sunday School on January 5, Thrivent Financial helped us learn about stewardship. We learned that everything we have belongs to God, and we are caretakers of God’s gifts. We learned that money can be used to spend, save, and share. The children received a really cool piggy bank to help them use their money wisely.
We finished our unit about Jesus calming the storm. The students made incredible multi-media pictures of the storm. We played a crazy game to survive the “storm,” and we dramatized and recorded the story.
Feeding the 5000
This month we will learn about the miracle of Jesus feeding 5000 people with very little food.
We will engage the story in these learning centers:
- Art Center: We will make fish food donation bags and reminder key rings.
- Game Center: We will review the story with puzzles, a quiz, a relay, and an all hands active game.
- Food Center: We will make fish breadsticks and salad to donate to the Dubuque Rescue Mission.
Family Lenten Workshop—February 23
Parents and children will work together to prepare for the season of Lent—we will make a Lenten devotional to use at home and play games to learn about Lent.
Join us anytime for Sunday School.
You and your friends are always welcome!
