Milestones Ministry

"Milestones Ministry provides a faith milestone as a marker along life’s journey that says, “This is something important, and God is here, too.” It is a faith formation practice for both home and congregation that helps all generations recognize God’s presence in everyday life."

More on what Milestones Ministry is about can be found here.

Some of their stuff costs money but lots of good stuff to read on their website too.

Faith Inkubators

“Faith Formation Every Week at Church and Every Night in Every Home”

In particular, the Faith5 program:

  • "There is a simple faith practice built into the core of every Faith Inkubators system, resource, and product. It is a powerful framework that deeply connects people to God and one another, connects church to home, and connects faith to daily life. We call this practice FAITH5™.
When modeled every week at church and practiced every night at home, FAITH5 carries the power to enrich communication, deepen understanding, and promote mental, physical and spiritual health."
    The five steps are:
STEP 1: SHARE your highs and lows
STEP 2: READ a Bible verse or story
STEP 3: TALK about how the Bible reading might relate to your highs and lows
STEP 4: PRAY for one another’s highs and lows
    STEP 5: BLESS one another

Art & Theology

“The mission of Art & Theology is to help the church rediscover its rich heritage in the visual, literary, and musical arts and to open it up to the activity of contemporary artists, whose giftings can enable us to see God in new and different ways. [. . . ] Art also slows us down: It invites us to gaze. Deeply. In doing so it fosters the habit of contemplation.”

Faith at Home

The Daily Feast

“Welcome to The Daily Feast where we connect Saints, Soups, and Sustainable Living! Each day of the year is the “anniversary” of millions of ordinary and extra-ordinary events or encounters in which our ancestors experienced the Presence of Mystery, the Power of Love, the Beauty and Wonder of Life.  The sacred calendars of every religious and spiritual tradition invite us to remember, rehearse and realize each day, the depth and richness present in the NOW.”

Beautiful liturgy and scripture for a person’s daily devotion.

Created by John Kenneth Leonard, Ph.D., Professor and Chair of Religious Studies at Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin, and one of Pastor Derek’s mentors in faith.
